This week we had the honour of supporting the Cheyne Family to honour and celebrate the patriarch of their family; Donald Barry Cheyne.
Donald passed away at the Monash Clayton Hospital on the 1st June 2023.
Don was the much loved & loving Husband to Pat (dec), loved Father to Allan, Susan & David.
Loved Father In-law to Martina & Gerri.
Adored Poppy to Keira, Broderick, April & Robert.
On the Kings Birthday Weekend this year, Don was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to Table Tennis.
Don worked tirelessly for the Eastern Suburbs and Churches Table Tennis Association and held roles such as;
President, Secretary and Committee Member for over 30 years.
Coach for 50 years,
Organiser in the A1 Grade Competition for 20 years,
Former A Grade Table Tennis Player,
Life Member and a Member of the Association from 19950-2023.
More than this, Don donated and raised much needed fund to the charity called ‘pingpongathon’. An organisation set up to help young girls in 3rd world countries who have ended up working or being used in the sex trade. This charity provides funds to school and educate the young girls so they are not forced to go down this path to feed and support their families.
