Many individuals choose cremation as a preferred funeral option, not only for cultural or religious reasons but because it is often a cheaper, more affordable funeral option. Depending on which Crematorium you choose, the main costs associated with a cremation are the funeral director’s professional service fee, the cremation fee, the chapel hire and your choice of coffin.
A funeral ceremony in a Cemetery or Crematorium Chapel is usually conducted prior to the cremation taking place. Most chapels allow between 45 and 60 minutes for the ceremony to be conducted.
If you feel your funeral ceremony will need additional time, it’s a good idea make a double booking to ensure you are not rushed and your ceremony can proceed the way you would like.
Alternatively, you may wish to hold your funeral ceremony at a church or venue like a sporting club, community hall or perhaps at home. These types of venues allow a bit more time for the ceremony and your loved one is taken to be privately cremated after the ceremony.
A member of the Greenhaven Team will always bring your loved one ashes back to you in person, usually within a week after the funeral service has taken place or will arrange with the cemetery for them to be interred in accordance with the family’s wishes.
